This was our first year using NY Landscape Lighting for our Christmas lighting needs. They were very professional, prompt and provided great communication. We wanted icicle lighting along our roof, and their lights were fantastic! Our house looked wonderful for the holidays! Looking forward to many years of doing business with them.

Christmas Lighting on Scarsdale Homes

Christmas Light Installation On Scarsdale Tudors, Slate Roofs, And Steep Gables

Christmas light installation in Scarsdale is a different job from a standard suburban roofline, and the housing stock is the reason. Much of the village went up in the 1920s and 1930s, and the Tudor Revival homes that define Fox Meadow, Greenacres and Heathcote come with peaked rooflines, half-timbering, patterned brick and slate.

Slate changes the attachment method. Shingle clips are not an option, so we run off the gutter line and the drip edge, and we set the line so nothing is fastened into the slate itself. Steep multi-gable elevations mean the crew works off ladders and lift points rather than walking the roof, which is slower and is priced accordingly — but it is the only way to hang a Scarsdale Tudor without leaving marks on it in April.

The English cottage homes in the village bring stucco, dormers and casement windows, and those need a run that follows the gable line rather than one straight roof edge. We measure each elevation and cut the strands for that house.

Our Christmas Light Installation Services

What We Hang On A Scarsdale Home

Exterior Christmas lights work best when the display follows the architecture instead of covering it. These are the elements we light on a typical Scarsdale property.

Rooflines, gables and dormers. Commercial-grade C9s or mini lights cut to the exact run, clipped to the gutter or drip edge. On a multi-gable Tudor we light the gable lines as well as the main edge so the elevation still reads as a shape after dark.

The entry and portico. Garland, wreaths and a lit door surround. It is the first thing anyone walking up sees and the highest-value few feet on the house.

Columns, porch posts and railings. Wrapped tight and evenly, which is where most DIY jobs come apart by mid-December.

Specimen trees and shrubs. Trunk and branch wrapping on the mature canopy Scarsdale lots tend to have, plus net or wrap work on foundation plantings.

Walkways and driveway edges. Stake lighting that keeps the approach safe and finishes the front of the property from the street.

Windows and rooftop pieces. Wreaths, candles and roof-mounted décor set where they line up from the road, not just from the front walk.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Christmas Light Installation Process In Scarsdale

Holiday light installation in Scarsdale runs on a fixed sequence, and the whole season is on one price.

1. Design visit and quote

We walk the property with you, agree what gets lit, and price the job before anything is ordered. Larger or unusual elevations get an on-site visit; a straightforward front roofline can often be quoted from photos and measurements.

2. Materials cut for your house

We supply commercial-grade LED strands and cut them to your rooflines. They are ours, labelled for your address, and they come back to the same house every year.

3. Installation

Our own crews install — no subcontractors. Timers are set, cords are routed out of sight, and every run is tested before we leave.

4. In-season service

If a section goes dark in the middle of December, we come back and fix it. That is included, not billed as a call-out.

5. Takedown in January

We remove the display after the holidays, on a scheduled date, so nothing sits on the house into spring.

6. Off-season storage

Everything goes back to our warehouse. Nothing lives in your attic, nothing needs untangling next November, and re-booking is a phone call.

PRICING

What Affects Your Christmas Light Installation Cost In Scarsdale

Christmas light installation pricing in Scarsdale comes down to how much line we hang, how hard the house is to reach, and how much of the property you want lit. Four things move the number.

Linear footage. The total run of roofline, gables and dormers. A single front elevation and a full wrap-around are very different jobs.

Height and roof pitch. A steep three-storey Tudor gable takes longer and needs more equipment than a low front porch line. This is the biggest single driver in Scarsdale.

Roof material. Slate and tile need gutter-line and drip-edge attachment rather than shingle clips, which adds time.

Trees, wreaths and ground work. Wrapping mature specimen trees, garland on the entry, and stake lighting along the walk are each priced on top of the roofline.

Every quote covers design, materials, installation, in-season service, January takedown and off-season storage on one price. There is no separate removal invoice in January.

About NY Landscape Lighting

Why Scarsdale Homeowners Choose NY Landscape Lighting

Most companies hanging Christmas lights in Westchester do something else the rest of the year. Landscapers, gutter crews and power-washing outfits add holiday lighting for eight weeks and put it down in January. We are a lighting company and nothing else, and we have been since 2005.

That matters more than it sounds on a Scarsdale house. The people cutting your strands and setting the line are the same crews that design low-voltage systems on these properties year round, so they already know how a Tudor elevation reads from the street at night and where a run will look crooked before it goes up.

Our own crews do the work — we do not subcontract holiday installs. We are licensed and insured, and we can send a certificate of insurance on request.

We service what we install. A dark section in December gets a return visit, not a service invoice, and the display comes down on a scheduled January date rather than whenever the season winds down.

We also install landscape lighting in Scarsdale, and many customers run both systems off one visit. For retail centres, offices and property managers, see commercial holiday lighting.

Neighborhoods We Serve In Scarsdale

We install Christmas lights across all of Scarsdale’s 10583, including Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote, Quaker Ridge and Edgewood, along with the streets around Scarsdale Village and the Crane-Berkeley and Sherbrooke Park areas. Our crews are in the village throughout the season, so a service call rarely means waiting for a separate trip down from Mount Kisco.

We also handle holiday lighting for neighboring Westchester towns including Hartsdale, Eastchester, Bronxville, New Rochelle, White Plains, Harrison, Larchmont and Mamaroneck.

Christmas Light Installation FAQs — Scarsdale, NY

Do you supply the lights, or do I use mine?

We supply them. Every strand, clip, cord and timer comes from us, cut to your rooflines and labelled for your address, and it goes back to our warehouse in January. We do not install customer-owned retail lights, they cannot be cut to length, they fail in ways we cannot warranty, and one dead section ruins a roofline with our name on it.

How do the lights attach? Will they damage my slate roof or gutters?

Nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into your house. On Scarsdale’s slate and tile roofs we run off the gutter line and drip edge using clips designed for it, and on shingle we use shingle tabs. No fasteners go into slate, and no holes go into fascia or trim.

What happens if a section goes dark in the middle of December?

We come back and fix it, and it is included in your price. In-season service is part of the package rather than a separate call-out charge — call (914) 962-2095 and we will schedule the repair.

Do you take the lights down and store them?

Yes, both are included. We remove the display on a scheduled date after the holidays and store everything at our warehouse until next season, so nothing goes into your attic and nothing needs untangling next November.

When should I book Christmas lights installation in Scarsdale?

Book in late summer or early fall for the season you want. Installation schedules fill from October and the first two weeks of December are the hardest slots to get. Call (914) 962-2095 to get on this year’s schedule.
