NY Landscape Lighting has designed and installed landscape lighting in Scarsdale for over 20 years, working out of our Mount Kisco shop about 25 minutes away. One crew designs and installs your system — no subcontractors — and every install is backed by a lifetime transformer warranty.
Call (914) 962-2095 or book online. We’ll walk your property at night — that’s when the design makes sense.
Scarsdale isn’t one kind of property. In the older neighborhoods, homes sit under a mature oak and maple canopy, and when we have that to work with we lead with downlighting mounted high in the trees — the effect reads like moonlight through the branches and lights the lawn, walkways, and seating areas at once, without the glare of over-uplighting.
Plenty of Scarsdale homes don’t have that canopy. On the newer colonials and shingle-style houses along Post Road and through the southern village, the light has to come from the house itself: soffit downlighting on the porch ceiling and eaves, tight-beam uplighting on foundation evergreens, and path lighting sized to the walkway rather than dotted along it. Same warm result, different execution — and it’s a decision we make standing in your yard, not off a satellite photo.
Most people don’t realize how much their home’s exterior can pop at night with the right lighting on it. Architectural lighting puts the focus on your home itself, things like rooflines, columns, garage doors, and the overall shape of the building. It’s the kind of lighting that makes your house look like it was meant to be seen after dark.
Good pathway and driveway lighting does two things at once. It keeps your property safe to walk around at night, and it gives your home a clean, finished look from the street. Guests know exactly where to go, and your yard looks intentional rather than dark and forgotten past the front door.
Uplighting is placed at ground level and shoots light upward, which sounds simple but the effect it creates is anything but. On a tall tree or a strong facade, it adds real drama and depth that you just can’t get from any other technique. It’s one of those things that homeowners always wish they had done sooner.
Downlighting works the opposite way, with fixtures mounted up high casting light down toward the ground. The result is soft and natural, a lot like the way moonlight filters through tree branches on a clear night. It works really well over seating areas and patios where you want the space to feel relaxed and easy to spend time in.
Your deck or patio is an extension of your home, and it should feel that way even after the sun goes down. The right lighting turns it into a space you actually want to be in at night, whether that’s a quiet evening outside or a get-together with friends. Step lights, post lights, and a few well-placed fixtures go a long way toward making that happen.
Ponds, fountains, waterfalls, and pools take on a whole different look when they’re lit up at night. The water catches and moves the light in a way that’s hard to describe until you see it in person. If you have a water feature on your property, lighting it properly makes it one of the first things anyone notices about your yard.
Every residential system is low-voltage, using fixtures, marine-grade non-corrosive wire, and gas-tight connectors with a 20-year manufacturer warranty. Transformers carry a lifetime warranty.

Commercial Holiday Lighting — Storefronts, office parks, HOAs, and property managers across Scarsdale and Westchester. Full-service install and removal on a schedule that works around your business.
Permanent Roof Lighting — Year-round programmable rooflines. Warm architectural white most nights, full color for holidays and events, controlled from your phone. No annual install.
Outdoor Audio — Buried and landscape-integrated speakers that pair with your lighting system.
Most homeowners in Scarsdale don’t think much about low-voltage landscape lighting until they compare it side by side with what they’ve been paying to run traditional outdoor lighting. Low-voltage systems use a fraction of the power and deliver results that look just as good, usually better, because the light itself is warmer and more controlled. The fixtures we install are American-made and CNC machined, built to a standard well above anything available at a hardware store or home center.
Our transformers carry a lifetime warranty, and every connection is made with marine-grade, non-corrosive wire backed by a 20-year manufacturer warranty. We choose these materials because they perform and because we want your system running the same way ten years from now that it does on installation day. A low-voltage landscape lighting system from NY Landscape Lighting is something you install once and stop thinking about.
Our most recent Scarsdale project is on Post Road. It’s a shingle-style colonial with no big trees over the front of the house, so there was nothing overhead to mount downlights to. We built the design off the house instead.
Fixtures in the porch ceiling light the entry and columns. A run along the eave picks up the shingle courses and the gable. Two uplights bring out the junipers on either side of the front door, and path lighting runs along the bluestone walk.
The red door used to disappear at night. Now it’s the first thing you see from the street.
We install throughout Scarsdale’s five school neighborhoods — Fox Meadow, Heathcote, Greenacres, Quaker Ridge, and Edgewood — along with Arthur Manor, Colonial Acres, Murray Hill, Old Scarsdale, Overhill, Secor Farms, Sherbrooke Park, and Berkeley.
We also work on properties with Scarsdale 10583 addresses that sit outside the village line toward Hartsdale and Greenburgh. If your mail says Scarsdale, we cover you.
Don’t see your neighborhood on the list? Call us at (914) 962-2095. Chances are we’re already working a few streets over.
Also serving Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, and White Plains.
More than 20 years of landscape lighting work across Westchester County means we’ve seen a lot of yards, a lot of different challenges, and a lot of homeowners who had no idea what their property could look like after dark until we showed them. That experience is something you get on every job we take, not just the big ones. We know the neighborhoods, the architecture styles common to this part of New York, and what actually holds up through the seasons here.
When Scarsdale homeowners want a name they can count on for outdoor lighting, they keep landing on us. That didn’t happen by accident, and it’s not something we take lightly. Every property we’ve worked on is a reflection of what we’re capable of, and we’re proud of all of them.
The easiest way to see what your yard could look like is to have one of our team members come out and walk the property with you. We offer a free landscape lighting consultation in Scarsdale with no commitment attached. You’ll leave that conversation with a real picture of what’s possible for your outdoor space. Call us at (914) 962-2095 and we’ll find a time that works.
You can also get in touch through our form and we’ll follow up promptly. We work with homeowners across Scarsdale and throughout Westchester County, and we’re always ready to take on a new project. Most people tell us the same thing once the lights go on for the first time. They wish they hadn’t waited.
