Schematic Design
Concept-level lighting input and a budget-aware fixture strategy.
We fit into your process. We protect your design intent. We keep it that way through installation.
Our landscape lighting installation for architects and landscape architects starts with your drawings. Most lighting contractors come in at the end, install what they have, and move on. We work differently. NY Landscape Lighting has worked with landscape architects, architects, and builders on residential and commercial properties since 2005.
We don’t arrive with a pre-set fixture list. We arrive having read the drawings, understood the landscape, and thought carefully about how light should move through the space at night. That preparation lets us contribute something real early in the process, and stay out of the way when that’s what the project needs.
Homeowners planning a project on their own can start with our outdoor lighting services in Westchester County instead.
Our landscape lighting contractors collaborate with design teams by protecting your design intent first. Over-lighting is one of the fastest ways to undermine a project that took months to get right. We believe in restraint. Our role is to support the architecture and the landscape, to make the space feel comfortable and legible after dark, not to flood it with fixtures.
We’re comfortable working within a defined budget from day one, and we’ll tell you early if something isn’t achievable at the number you have. We use American-made, low-voltage fixtures built to handle every season in Westchester and Fairfield County. Not the cheapest option. The right one.
We work from plans. We provide clear fixture specifications. We’re reachable during construction and present in the field when it counts. If the landscape contractor needs to coordinate planting around fixture locations, we handle that conversation. You don’t have to manage us. No surprises mid-project.

Our landscape lighting services for architect-led projects depend on where you are in the project:
We’re comfortable stepping in early or joining later. Either way, the goal is a nighttime result that reflects the quality of the overall design.
Send your plans for a landscape lighting installation estimate using the form, and tell us where the project stands. Prefer to talk it through? Call Chris at 914-962-2095.
The best time to bring a landscape lighting contractor into an architectural project is schematic design, before grading, planting, and electrical rough-in are locked in. Here is what we contribute at each stage.
Concept-level lighting input and a budget-aware fixture strategy.
Integrated lighting layouts that respect planting, architecture, and circulation.
Fixture specifications and clear coordinated plans.
Field coordination with the landscape contractor on fixture locations and planting.
We install to your design, with a day-of-install walkthrough with your team when needed.
Bring us in early to coordinate lighting with the design.
We’ve spent over two decades building a reputation in Westchester County that we’re proud of. More than 400 five-star Google reviews reflect the kind of work we do and the way we treat the people we work with. Every system we install uses American-made fixtures and materials. Our transformers come with a lifetime warranty and our wire connections carry a 20-year manufacturer warranty. We stand behind what we put in the ground.
Yes. We’re set up to collaborate with landscape architects, architects, and builders across both the design and construction phases. Bring us in early and we can provide concept input, lighting layouts, and fixture specifications that fit the overall vision. Bring us in later and we’ll coordinate closely with whoever is on site to make sure the lighting lands the way it was intended. Either way, the process is straightforward and the goal is always the same: support the design, keep things moving, and deliver a result the whole team is proud of.
As early as you’d like. Bringing lighting into the conversation during schematic design, before grading, planting, and electrical rough-in are locked in, gives us the most flexibility to do the work well. That said, we’re also comfortable stepping in later. We’ll adapt to wherever you are in the process.
No. Our job is to support the design, not redirect it. We’ll tell you what we think will work well and flag anything that could create problems. But we don’t push product and we don’t inflate scope. If something isn’t in the budget, we’ll say so upfront.
We work throughout Westchester County, including Armonk, Scarsdale, Bedford, Rye, Larchmont, Bronxville, Harrison, Mamaroneck, White Plains, and surrounding areas. If you have a project nearby, reach out and we’ll let you know if it’s something we can take on.
