Outdoor & Landscape Lighting in Darien, CT
NY Landscape Lighting designs and installs LED outdoor lighting for Darien homes, from Tokeneke to Noroton Heights. Lighting is the only thing we do, and we have done it in Fairfield County since 2005.
Outdoor lighting installation in Darien is our core work in Fairfield County. We light driveways, front walks, mature trees, stone walls, facades, patios and pool areas with low-voltage LED systems that run on a timer or from your phone. Every job is planned on site, installed by our own crew, and backed by the same team that answers your service call.
Our shop is at 342 Lexington Ave in Mount Kisco, a few minutes from Darien, so we schedule Darien installs and follow-up visits on a regular route.
Landscape Lighting Services for Darien Homes
Landscape lighting for Darien homes usually covers four areas of the property. Most of our landscape lighting clients start with one or two and add zones later
Path and Driveway Lighting
Low path lights and step lights along walks, stairs and long Darien driveways so guests and deliveries find the door safely.
Tree and Facade Uplighting
Uplights on specimen trees, stone and shingle facades, columns and entry gables. This is what makes a home read clearly from the street at night.
Patio, Deck and Pool Lighting
Downlights, hardscape lights under wall caps and step lights for outdoor dining, pool decks and fire pit areas.
Security and Entry Lighting
Even light at doors, garages and dark side yards, on schedules that keep the property lit when you are away.
Outdoor Lighting Built for Darien's Coastal Conditions
Outdoor lighting in Darien has to handle salt air, wet springs and hard freezes. Homes on Long Neck Point, Tokeneke and Delafield Island sit close to Long Island Sound, and painted aluminum fixtures corrode quickly there. For shoreline properties we use fixtures and sealed, waterproof wire connections.
Inland neighborhoods like Noroton Heights, Hollow Tree and the streets around Darien’s downtown have different needs: larger lawns, stone walls and older trees with wide canopies. We set fixture placement and brightness around those features rather than lining every path with the same light.
Permanent Roofline Lighting vs Seasonal Holiday Lighting in Darien
Permanent roofline lighting and seasonal holiday lighting are the two ways Darien homeowners light a roofline. NY Landscape Lighting installs both, and the right one depends on how often you want the house lit.
| Permanent roofline lighting | Seasonal holiday lighting | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is installed | LED track mounted under the roof edge, stays up year round | Lights clipped to gutters and shingles each season |
| When you use it | Any night: holidays, game days, parties, everyday accent light | November through early January |
| Colors and control | Any color or pattern, changed from a phone app | Fixed design chosen at install |
| Takedown and storage | None | NY Landscape Lighting takes it down and stores it |
| Best for | Homes that want lighting beyond December | Homes that want a full Christmas look once a year |
Darien homeowners who want a year-round option can see how NY Landscape Lighting installs permanent roofline lighting, and families booking for this season can reserve Christmas light installation in Darien before the November schedule fills.
Outdoor Audio for Darien Patios and Pool Areas
Outdoor audio for Darien patios is often installed at the same time as lighting, since the wiring runs through the same beds and hardscape. NY Landscape Lighting offers outdoor audio installation with weatherproof landscape speakers that blend into planting and are controlled from your phone.
Choosing an Outdoor Lighting Company in Darien
Choosing an outdoor lighting company in Darien comes down to a few things we hold ourselves to on every job:
- Lighting is the specialty. We are not a landscaper or electrician adding lights on the side.
- Local track record. NY Landscape Lighting has installed in Fairfield County and Westchester County since 2005.
- You see it first. Night demonstration before installation.
- Coastal-grade materials for shoreline Darien homes.
- One team, all year. The crew that installs your landscape lighting also handles your holiday and roofline lighting.
- Written estimate before work starts.

Will my outdoor lighting shine into my neighbors' windows?
NY Landscape Lighting aims and shields every fixture to keep light on your property. We use fixtures with hoods and glare guards, point uplights into trees and walls rather than across property lines, and keep brightness at the level the space needs.
When is the best time of year to install landscape lighting in Darien?
NY Landscape Lighting installs Darien landscape lighting, while the ground can be trenched. Spring installs are ready for summer entertaining. Fall installs light the property for the longest nights of the year.
